Circular Economy Practices and Business Sustainability
This book presents proceedings from the 5th International Conference on Sustainable, Circular Management and Environmental Engineering (ISCMEE), which was held in Izmir, Turkey, on July 1, 2025. Divided into three sections-Sustainability and Digitalization, Circular Economy and Business Management, and Environmental Economics and Social Policy-the articles included outline important issues in sustainable development; digitalization and its applications in resource management; social responsibility in management; sustainable tourism; green innovation; technology entrepreneurship; and social well-being. With special attention given to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, these papers aim to address global challenges like climate change, environmental degradation, and food security with applied management and environmental engineering methods.
Dr. Viktor Koval is Professor of Applied Economics at Izmail State University of Humanities (Izmail, Ukraine). His research focuses on sustainable development, economics and environmental management. He has significant experience in the development and analysis of sustainable business models and in the application of circular economy principles in various industries. He has published over 100 scholarly articles and is the co-editor of Circular Economy for Renewable Energy (Springer, 2023) and Renewables in the Circular Economy and Business (Springer, 2023).
Dr. Yiğit Kazançoğlu is Professor of Logistics Management at Yaşar University (Bornova, Turkey). His expertise is in the application of machine learning methods in sustainable logistics and resilience, especially in the context of emerging economies. He has published over 130 scholarly articles indexed in SCI, SSCI, and AHCI. He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences (IJMEMS).
