Green and Low-Carbon Transition in China
This book provides a data-driven analysis of green and low-carbon development in China through a detailed regional study of Anhui Province. Integrating policy interpretation with empirical assessment, it offers a structured approach to understanding subnational implementation of China’s dual-carbon strategy.
Based on a newly developed Green and Low-Carbon Development Index (GLCDI) and longitudinal data from 2011 to 2022, the book evaluates development performance across provinces, cities, key industries, and pilot initiatives. Quantitative measurement is combined with case studies on low-carbon city programs, national carbon market participation, green finance policies, and collaborative mechanisms for pollution and carbon reduction.
Linking macro-level policy goals with regional practices, the volume highlights transferable experiences and governance pathways relevant to other industrial and resource-based regions. It is intended for researchers and graduate students in sustainability and environmental economics, as well as policymakers and practitioners engaged in climate and low-carbon development.
Sun Di, associate professor, master's supervisor, and doctor of applied economics, mainly engaging in research in the fields of industrial economy and agricultural economy; he has presided over 3 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, including the Key Project of Innovation and Development Research on Social Sciences in Anhui Province, the Key Project of Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Anhui Provincial Colleges and Universities, and the Youth Project of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project in Anhui Province.
Song Malin, a second - level professor, post - doctor (Ph.D. holder), and doctoral supervisor at Anhui University of Finance and Economics. He has served as a Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Anhui University of Finance and Economics since February 2023.
Sun Yuhuan is Vice Dean, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Statistics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the China Social Science Survey Center, Peking University, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan, USA. She serves as the Chief Expert of Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund, a Leading Talent in Dalian, and a Famous Teacher of Undergraduate Teaching in Liaoning Province.
