This book presents recent developments in the theory and management of networks (such as alliances, cooperatives, franchise chains) and platforms. In addition, it explores the impact of digitalization on networks and presents empirical studies on digital platform businesses.
The book will be of major interest to scholars and students of economics of organization, business and management, governance of networks and digital platforms, and practicing managers.
Josef Windsperger is a Professor of International Business at the University of Vienna (Austria). His research focus is economics and management of networks, international market entry modes, and the theory of the firm. He is the founder and organizer of EMNet-conferences.
Gerard Cliquet is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Rennes (France). He received the bronze medal of the CNRS for his research. He was the director of the CREM UMR CNRS 6211 (Center for Research in Economics and Management), a member of the board of governors of the AMS (Academy of Marketing Science) and of the ISoF (International Society of Franchising), and president of the CIDEGEF, a network of French-speaking business schools.
Oksana Galak is a Lecturer at the University of Vienna (Austria) and a Module Leader for the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project “International Business: Strategies for Integrated Europe” (IBSIE). Her research interests are in international business with a dual focus on organizational strategy and human resource management in global and European contexts.
George W. J. Hendrikse is a Full Professor of Economics of Organizations at Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands). His research focuses on the ownership of enterprises, especially supply chain cooperatives. He published 150 articles, and 16 books and has supervised 15 PhD-theses.
