This book is a bold, necessary intervention in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Rather than focusing on marginalised workers as problems to be fixed, it repositions them as assets—individuals whose unique experiences, insights, and talents are undervalued by conventional organisational systems. Across ten analytically rich and practically grounded chapters, the book interrogates how "othering" operates in everyday workplace structures, cultures, and language, and how it can be dismantled through critical, intentional redesign.

Drawing on global case studies, research across disciplines, and practical tools for change, this volume offers scholars, practitioners, and change-makers a new vocabulary and roadmap for equity. It is an invitation to move beyond fixing people, and toward fixing systems—deliberately, thoughtfully, and courageously.
