The Social Benefits of High-Speed Rails in China
This book summarizes the quantitative research methods related to the social benefits of high-speed rails. It also explores the political, economic, technological, social and environmental impacts of high-speed rails. As China's new national business card, high-speed railways not only reflect the advanced technology of Chinese railways but also reflect China's increasing comprehensive national power. The highlight of the book is to conduct multidimensional analysis of the social benefits of the high-speed rail with a focus of spatiotemporal economics analysis.
Hongchang Li is a full professor of Economics and vice-chair of the Department of Economics, School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiaotong University. Prof. Li’s research expertise focuses on industrial economics and transportation economics theory and ranks within top 30 of transportation economics academics in China. Prof. Li is PI for more than 50 national and ministerial-level government funding projects. Prof. Li also serves as a steering committee member of WCTRS and serves as a consulting expert for the China Association for Science and Technology. Prof. Li is also a special economics commentator for media such as China Central Television, China Traffic Radio.
