The objective of this publication is to provide the reader new to scenario planning, with an introduction to the Intuitive Logics (IL) scenario planning model, the most commonly used scenario planning model.

The main topic subject of this book is understanding the origins and development of the IL method, the various stages of the IL development process, the impact of cognitive issues and how people think affecting scenario development and concludes by highlighting a range of issues from the various definitions of scenario planning, to conflicting terms and processes, and content and process pitfalls.

While there are a growing number of books on scenario planning, few are designed for those new to the subject; most books cover alternative or enhanced developments in scenario processes. This book focuses on the IL methodology and includes a series of appendices including a list of Foresight and scenario organisations, Futures journals and magazines, published scenarios, select readings and useful guides and tools, all of which should prove useful to those who wish to learn more about scenario planning.
