It's not just what you do that matters, but how you do it.

The America’s Cup is one of the world’s most prestigious and toughest sailing competitions. What makes it unique is that the winner gets to host the next event and change the rules.

Dominik Neidhart has participated in three different America’s Cup challenges—in a less-than-successful initial project, a triumphant victory, and a bitter defeat. In this book, he writes about his personal experiences behind the scenes. He shares his own highs and lows, the importance of making quick decisions, the willingness to take risks, constant innovation as the norm, recognizing limitations, and uncompromising standards for success. He also explores the dark side of high performance in this high-end sport.

In addition, he conducts interviews with some of the greats of the America’s Cup, for example with Ernesto Bertarelli (one of the richest Swiss), Russell Coutts (five-time America’s Cup winner), Brad Butterworth (considered one of the world’s best sailing tacticians), Rolf Vrolijk (yacht designer) or Marc Wintermantel (structural engineer and designer for the German America’s Cup team).

Biografische Anmerkung

Dominik Neidhart is a top athlete, and has participated three times in one of the world's most prestigious sailing competitions. He was a crew member of the Swiss Alinghi team that brought the America's Cup back to Europe for the first time in 152 years. Through three different America's Cup challenges—a less-than-successful initial project, a triumphant victory, and a bitter defeat—Neidhart gained extensive experience in the complex organization, demanding management, and successful teamwork involved in realizing this unique vision.
